Frequently Asked Questions
Once you take the first step to reach out, we will set up a consultation phone call. This will be 15 minutes for you to tell me a little about yourself in order to see if we are a good fit. If we both feel good, I will send you all the paperwork through the client portal, and we will get you scheduled for your first session.
During your first session, we will work together to for me to get to know you and what your goals are for therapy. I will ask questions and guide the conversation, no worries. We will meet weekly as we start and can talk more about schedule during our time together. You never have to feel worried or stressed when coming to therapy. We will work together to be sure we are addressing all your concerns.
I will already have your card information and will charge you after the session is complete. We will not need to exchange payment during our time together.
Standard sessions are 50 minutes and typically scheduled for the same time/day each week. We will start by meeting each week with the hope that you eventually feel able and confident in your skills and can pull back to less sessions.
Therapy sessions are 50 minutes and cost $140 a session.
I am not in network with insurance companies. I have decided not to take insurance for a few reasons.
- In order to use insurance, I must give you a diagnosis. I do not believe everyone has a diagnosis to give and would not want to misdiagnose for the sole reason of pleasing insurance companies.
- If we use insurance, we allow them to dictate when and how often we meet. Because each client has individual needs, I do not feel the insurance companies can make these choices for us.
While finding the right therapist for you is very important, it can also be quite difficult. Our relationship will play a large part in your healing and growth. I want you to feel at home with me and comfortable as you open up.
A good fit should feel relaxed, non-judgmental, and easy. You can feel when it is the right fit because you will allow yourself to be authentic and real. I want the relationship to be an honest and trusting relationship from both sides.
